Moving can be one of the busiest things anyone can do in their life. After all, it’s no joke having to find a place to stay, fixing paperwork and documentation for utilities and payments, hiring professional help, and especially the packing and unpacking of your belongings. Truth be told, you can’t conduct a house move without getting a bit of sweat out of your system. And if you want to spend everyday looking fashionable, a house move is definitely not one of the things you should do. Then again, there’s always a way to help things turn around. There are actually ways for you to remain fashionable during a house move:
  • Plan your wardrobe ahead of time. One of the most important tips to remain stylish throughout your house move is to not rush fashion. If possible, try to have a capsule wardrobe prepared that you can mix and match depending on the occasion. This is important as different aspects of the move require different attires and levels of physical movement. This means you have to prepare for times when it’s comfy to move around, or when you have to get ready for some sweaty days (such as packing). Doing this ahead lets you prepare what to wear without experiencing the hassle.
  • Try to go with fashion trends in your new town or area. If you’re moving to another state, try to see if there are ongoing fashion trends in the area that you can emulate. You can establish yourself as the “resident fashion guru” if you show the rest of the neighborhood just how stylish you are.
  • Reserve the formal attires for when you have to meet people. If you want to look stylish with your coat and other formal wear, consider reserving them for when you have to talk to people. For instance, if you have to meet movers Manhattan NY or have to work on documents in your area, you can wear these kinds of clothing. However, if you’re alone at home and have to move things around, high heels and a blouse might not cut it for you.
  • Wear comfortable and casual clothing when you have to do physical activity. If you want to do physical activity such as packing and other manual labor, you should consider wearing comfier and casual clothes. Tees and jeans, paired with a great pair of suspenders or even hip shorts, can make packing comfier without removing your sense of style. This also helps a lot with moving, as you can now move without feeling constrained and you can do more physically-demanding things such as lifting and carrying objects.
  • Choose makeup that can resist sweat and sunlight. If you’re doing things related to your move, chances are you’re going to do a lot of walking and a lot of moving. The sweat and the heat of all these processes can remove your makeup, and that can really mess up your day. So instead of risking a great makeup setup before you leave the house, make sure you either wear minimal makeup or choose products that can resist the elements as you move around town.
  • Avoid the hassle with the help of professional services. Just because you’re conducting a move doesn’t mean you have to do everything alone. You can actually hire services such as moving services long distance or even designers to help you with various aspects of the move. This not only removes the burden of doing too much physical activity from you (which also means no need to get sweaty!), but this allows professionals to actually assist you in the transportation of your belongings. This is a worthy investment that ensures your items remain safe and sound even while you move houses.

Who says you have to look unfashionable just because you’re moving? With the above tips in mind, it’s important to understand that it’s very possible to remain stylish while conducting your move. Remember, it’s all in the planning of your wardrobe as you move through parts of the moving process. Happy Moving!

  1. These are such fun ideas! Planning your outfit is such a great suggestion. It would definitely make it feel like more of an "event" rather than just sitting down on the couch to watch something.
