A short post, just to celebrate my favorite shoes of this winter period... the classic Ugg boots. I already own three pairs but I'm dreaming about buying them also in black and cream to complete my collection (even if I love them also in blue, burgundy and aqua blue). They may not be sexy or make u look thin and slender but they are without any doubt fashionable and the most comfortable shoes ever. 

Sheepskin boots were originally used by australian surfers to keep feet warm after catching the waves, and then reached success in the US when actresses and celebrities started wearing them off-set. Nowadays, there are many different models and colors available but also many replicas on the market... but be aware! They may look very similar to original Uggs but the quality is absolutely not the same. Happy Saturday to u all!

Un breve post, semplicemente per celebrare le mie scarpe preferite per questo periodo invernale... i classici stivali Ugg. Ne ho già tre paia ma sogno di comprarli anche in nero e beige per completare la mia collezione (anche se mi piacciono anche in blu, bordeaux e verde acqua). Possono non essere sexy o non farvi sembrare magre e slanciate ma sono senza dubbio alla moda e le scarpe più comode del mondo! Le scarpe con il montone interno erano inizialmente utilizzate dai surfisti australiani per tenere caldi i piedi dopo aver cavalcato le onde e hanno poi raggiunto il successo negli USA quando le attrici e celebrità varie hanno iniziato ad indossarli fuori dal set. Oggi esistono numerosi modelli e colori e anche numerose imitazioni sul mercato...ma state attente! Sono molto simili agli Ugg originali ma la qualità non è assolutamente la stessa. But regardless of the animal with which we identify it, this fabric, created by the intersection of vertical and horizontal threads, usually in black and white, is a universal symbol of class and elegance. Originally from Scotland, it was consecrated in the 50s by Christian Dior, but still very popular on todaty's runways  thanks to Ferragamo Marni, DKNY, Paul Smith, Iceberg and many other great designers. Yesterday I showed you an outfit with houndstooth accessories, today I want to give you a little inspiration with images I found on the web ... and please do not imitate Lady Gaga!

In Italia è chiamato “pied-de-poule”, ossia piede di gallina. In inglese, è detto “houndstooth”, letteralmente denti di segugio. Ma a prescindere dall’animale con cui vogliamo identificarlo, questo tessuto, nato dall’incrocio di filati verticali e orizzontanli, solitamente in bianco e nero, è un simbolo universale di classe ed eleganza. Originario della Scozia, viene consacrato negli anni'50 da Christian Dior, ma ancora oggi spopola sulle passerelle, da Ferragamo a Marni, passando per DKNY, Paul Smith, Iceberg e molti altri grandi stilisti.

Yesterday it was Thanksgiving and that made me think about the importance of saying thank you for all the things we have. Sometimes we just complain about everything, without realising how lucky we are even for the simplest thing that we usually take for granted. So, every now and then, we should stop and say thank you. Today, I want to thank for friendship. Thanks to my friends who stand and sustain me. Thanks to my fiancée who is also my best friend. Thanks to all of you who follow and support me. Thank you!

Ieri era il giorno del Ringraziamento e ciò mi ha fatto riflettere sull'importanza di dire grazie per tutte le cose che abbiamo. A volte semplicemente ci lamentiamo di tutto, senza renderci conto di quanto siamo fortunati anche per le cose più semplici che solitamente diamo per scontato. Ogni tanto dovremmo quindi fermarci e dire grazie. Io oggi voglio dire grazie per l'amicizia. Grazie alle mie amiche che mi sopportano e supportano. When I was 14 I had an amazing black velvet dress that I bought for my first high school party. I just hope that I'll be able to find it somewhere at my parent's house 'cause velvet is so hot right now!

Note to self: fashion is cyclical - never throw away anything! 

Quando avevo 14 anni avevo un meraviglioso vestito di velluto nero che avevo comprato per la mia prima festa del liceo. Spero soltanto di riuscire a ritrovarlo da qualche parte a casa dei miei genitori perchè il velluto è tornato prepotentemente di moda in questo momento! 

Nota per me stessa: la moda è ciclica - non gettare mai via nulla!
